The Management Trainee Program, which gave me the opportunity to learn the business from the ground up, is excellent. By seeing the business from every possible angle, I was well informed of the available career paths and what I needed to do in order to follow them.
There are many great things about working for Stock, but I would have to say that the single best thing would be Stock's commitment to encouraging its associates to continue their education. This is evident in our Tuition Reimbursement Programs, as well as the wealth of classes that are offered both on-line and at the individual store locations.
Although we have locations in over 20 States, sales of over $3 billion and more than 6,000 associates, we are still like one big family.
Right now, I'm really enjoying being part of the Stock Building Supply Development team. It's a great group to work with and we all understand the importance of working together to get things done. In the next two or three years, I expect to be a senior manager, either at the corporate office or at one of our regional locations. If you are looking to work with the best in the industry, they don't come any better than Wolseley and Stock.
