Ferguson - a Top Place to Start Your Career

Wolseley's US operating company Ferguson has been voted one of the top 50 US companies for new college graduates to begin their careers in a survey of more than 37,000 undergraduate students.

The magazine BusinessWeek ranked Ferguson with Disney, General Electric and Goldman Sachs and other prominent companies, with Ferguson in 30th place in the survey.

In compiling the list, BusinessWeek surveyed directors of undergraduate career services at more than 100 colleges and universities to determine the most talked-about employees on campuses.

The survey covered areas such as pay, benefits, corporate culture and training.

Ferguson is well-known for its management trainee programme, and is proud of the fact that entry-level employees can be promoted with as little as 6-18 months experience on the job.

Denise Francum, Ferguson’s Director of Recruiting (pictured here), said she was thrilled to be on the top 50 list with other strong companies.

“We have known for a long while what an incredible opportunity we provide, but the national recognition is very exciting” she added.

“The nation's largest wholesale distributor of plumbing supplies gives new hires the ultimate in flexibilty: facilities in every state.” Is how BusinessWeek describes Ferguson.
