Wolsey's Wasco company has opened the first sanitary showroom in the Netherlands. Customers, suppliers staff and the media showed great interest when the 300 square-metre showroom opened in Rotterdam recently.The recent purchase of one of the most trusted names in the Dutch marketplace, Kopex, has given Wasco an extensive presence in the market.

Almost half of Wolseley's employees in France have completed a survey called " It's good to speak the truth" ("Toutes les verites sont bonnes a dire"), designed to help the company measure their satisfaction and identify expectations. Every employee in France will have the opportunity to comment on the survey and an action plan has been developed.
Insulation is a hot topic in the UK. Growing consumer interest in green issues and rocketing energy prices are good news for Wolseley's Encon, one of the UK's leading distributors of insulation and drywall to the construction industry. Latest figures show the business is continuing to outperform an expanding market. While the sector is seing a five to ten per cent growth, Encon's 820-strong workforce has consistently delivered 20 per cent.
Possibly the neatest and tidiest builder's yard within Wolseley is at Klatovy in the Czech Republic, part of our recent acquisition, Woodcote.The enormous 12,000 square-metre site is the workplace for just 32 employees and accounts for 20 percent of Woodcotes's sales in the CR, where local management have built a thriving building materials business within the last two years, challenging the company's traditional emphasis on its 'lightside' business.
Wolseley UK has been awarded the prestigious Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) Gold Award for Occupational Health and Safety. The award is not just about reducing accidents or illness but also for occupational health and safety management systems the company has in place. WUK's HR Director Bob Mason is not planning to sit on his laurels, however and has pledged to keep focused on safety as a top priority.
