OAGStark is a nationwide Danish chain of builders’ merchants, selling timber, building materials and tools, and providing professional advice on building and logistics solutions to professional and DIY builders.
Stark was founded in 1896 under the name of DDT Detail, though all its stores carried their own local names. In 2004 the division unified all its stores under a common identity: Stark.
The number of builders’ merchant outlets has increased significantly since 1988-1990 due to consolidation in the industry. Today, Stark has a nationwide presence in Denmark and Greenland.
Stark customers are professional contractors and DIY builders – the latter being semi-professionals somewhere between typical DIYers and professional builders.
Professional customers are served from Stark’s builders’ merchant outlets, where they have access to more than half a million products. The most widely used products are always held in stock; the rest can be ordered on request. Professional advice on all phases of the building process is always available.
In addition, about half the stores have a DIY section where DIYers can choose from a wide and well-assorted product range.
