Wolseley plc today announces the appointment of Pilar Lopez to its Board as a Non Executive Director with effect from 1 January 2013.  Pilar will also become a member of the Audit, Remuneration and Nominations Committees of the Board.

Pilar, 42, is Chief Financial Officer for Telefónica Europe, a position she has held since 2007.  Through her role at Telefónica she is also a member of the Supervisory Board of Telefónica Czech Republic AS and Vice Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Telefónica Deutschland Holding AG.  She joined Telefónica in 1999 working in a number of finance and strategy positions across the European and Latin American businesses.  Prior to this Pilar worked in a variety of roles at J. P. Morgan, the US banking corporation, in Madrid, London and New York where she became a Vice President.
